PART of a visitor centre near a Solway town has recently come under new management, bringing with it some refurbishments.

Staff at Bank Mill Nurseries at Beckfoot, Silloth are delighted to have new management, who are making changes to the ‘dino diner’.

Owner, Mel James, explained: “We are under new management.

“It’s nice to have the place back under family ownership.

“With the place being a family owned business we can now build the reputation back up.”

The cafe used to have a dinosaur exhibition, which is where the idea for the dino diner came from.

“We had the dinosaur models from a previous exhibition,” continued Miss James.

“The coffee shop was looking outdated so we decided to do it up and got the idea from there.

“It’s done up all jungle style.

“We have big dinosaur models and it looks like an excavation.”

After a long time of the cafe being run by an outside body the family are glad to be back running it.

Miss James added: “People are glad it’s still in the family and that we have it back again.

“It’s also a time for us to get it back up and running. After being closed for 19 weeks because of the road closures on the B5300 it’s nice to be up and running again.

“It’s nice that people are coming back and supporting us.”
