A FAMILY of six had to be escorted back to the motorway after breaking the lockdown rules.
Cumbria Roads Police stopped a family of two adults and four children from Leigh who were travelling to the Lake District for a day out.
In a tweet they said: "This family of six (2 adults, 4 children) had come from Leigh, Lancs for a trip out to the Lake District today.
"Stopped at Windermere and advised to return.
"We are Policing all routes into the lakes. Escorted back to the motorway."
