A FORTY-two-year-old Carlisle man has appeared before a court to face three allegations linked to alleged attempts to “sexually” communicate with a child.
John Gibson, of North Street, Denton Holme, is alleged to have committed the offences in Workington in December last year and January this year, Carlisle’s Rickergate-based magistrates’ court heard.
The first alleged offence, said to have been committed on January 10, was that he tried to incite a girl aged 13 to commit a sex act. The second allegation, dating from January 30, was that he tried to incite a 13-year-old child to look at four pictures of people having sex.
The third allegation is that he communicated sexually with a child between December 20 last year and February 6 this year, quizzing her about sexual issues. District Judge Gerald Chalk sent the case to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on June 22.
In the meantime, the defendant was told he must not have unsupervised access to any child aged under the age of 16. Gibson was represented by defence lawyer John Cooper.
