Motorists travelling on the M6 are warned of disruption to their journeys.

Highways England is carrying out emergency barrier repairs between J38 (Tebay) and J37 (Sedbergh) until 3pm on June 23.

One of the three lanes will be closed on the southbound carriageway.

Road repairs are also taking place between J42 and J44.

Lane three will be closed on the northbound carriageway, with disruption expected until 7pm on June 1.

On the southbound side of the carriageway between the same junctions, lane three will also be closed for road repairs.

The southbound works will take place until 8pm today and then again between 2am and 8pm on May 28; from 6am to 8pm on May 29; and between 6am on May 30 and 8pm on June 18.

Meanwhile, one of two lanes will be closed on the M6 northbound entry slip at J42 (Carlisle South) until 6am on June 21. This is again to facilitate road repairs.
