It was love at first sight for Rachel and Chris Holden Tinkler.

Rachel, 27, is originally of Silloth, but now lives in Workington with Chris, 29.

The couple met in 2014 at a special dance in Carlisle and have been together ever since.

It was in May 2018 during a holiday in Turkey to celebrate their fourth anniversary that construction worker Chris popped the question.

Rachel said: "Our Engagement was perfect in every single way. It was special as Chris had asked my perfect mum and dad for my hand in marriage. Our perfect loved ones all knew about it beforehand. It was an incredible surprise for me.

"Chris asked me to marry him while he was on one knee holding my engagement ring while we were celebrating in our hotel room on our balcony with views including the Aegean Sea with all of our favourite music playing."

Rachel, a front of house assistant manager, had a hen party in Manchester as well as a surprise one at the Old Ginn House in Workington, while Chris travelled to Bulgaria for his stag do.

The loving couple tied the knot on July 6, 2019 at the Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa, one of their favourite places.

Rachel said: "Chris and mine's wedding theme was perfect. It was full of love, love, love everywhere, as always.

"We had so many special sentimental decorations that were all extremely personalised which meant ever so much to all of our perfect loved ones and us. We had love hearts everywhere - We love love hearts."

The couple chose pink as their theme, complemented by whites, greys and silvers.

The venue was decorated by Workington's Sweet Belief.

Chris wore a grey suit from Debenhams with a pink tie and matching pockerchief.

Rachel's dress was specially made for her by a dress maker.

She said: " It was my dream wedding dress - It even had a love heart shaped back, it was full of detail, with a lot of diamantes on it."

The couple loved the dress so much they are having part of it made into a Christening gown, ready for when they will have children.

The bride was surrounded by her mum and dad Helen and George Holden, grandfather John Millican, grandmother Florence Holden, bridesmaids Katrina Tinkler, sister-in-law, cousins Sarah Akitt and Libby Millican and maid of honour was best friend Victoria Carr.

Chris had his mum Judith Tinkler, dad Christopher Richards, grandfathers David Richards and Dennis Tinkler, ushers were cousin Ryan Millican and friends Jamie Richardson and Warren Straughton and pageboy was godson Frazer McMullan, who was one at the time. Best man was his best friend Simon Lancaster.

The couple got their wedding rings from H Samuel in Whitehaven - a traditional white gold band for Chris and a white gold ring with sparkling diamonds for Rachel.

The wedding flowers, provided by Bespoke Florist in Workington, were pink and white roses, lilies and gypsophila.

There were 61 guests at Chris and Rachel's special day, with 150 people joining the night celebrations.

The guests were treated to a love heart box with a personalised keepsake, love heart sweets and confetti, a Cancer Research favour in memory of both of their grandmothers and forget-me-not seeds.

Becky's Bakes in Workington made a three-tier Victoria sponge in white and pink, with an enormous love heart on it.

Rachel and Chris had their first dance to Amazed by Boyz To Men.

Dancing In The Dark provided the entertainment, with the couple's and their loved ones favourite song being played.

After their special day, they jetted off to Turkey for their honey moon.

Stephen Rowell Photography and videographer CPD Film captured the day.

Rachel said: "It was the best wedding ever, absolutely everything was perfect in every way, shape and form. We're all over the moon.

"I completely and utterly am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world to have the best of the best family, husband and friends in the whole entire universe, they're all well and truly out of this world.

"A special thank you to them all to the moon and back for being mine."
