Serenading the entire town is just the cherry on the cake for one entertainer, who has raised thousands for charity during lockdown.

Singer and actor Billy Walker has made it his mission during the pandemic to brighten as many lives as possible, while raising funds for Hospice at Home with his newly-released album.

After struggling with his mental health when the virus first hit the nation, the 38-year-old took to touring the streets, performing for care homes and on people's doorsteps to give the people of Workington and beyond a much-needed boost.

He said: “The coronavirus pandemic has been the single most unprecedented event in my life and for around two weeks I struggled greatly and became depressed, like many others.

"Following a difficult few weeks, I decided to get out there and do what I do best – entertain!"

He continued: “I am thoroughly enjoying lifting the spirits of our communities most vulnerable and it has truly been my honour to serve them, their carers, and neighbours.

"Of course, raising money for Hospice at Home is just the icing on the cake!”

The LA actor's album And On The 7th Day is currently being sold at Workington Tesco, with all profits going straight to Hospice at Home, adding to the £6,000 he has already raised for the charity.
