A technical college has received approval for a suite of new workshops, supporting them in providing training to the future of engineering.
Energy Coast UTC has received final approval for a suite of workshops on site at Lillyhall, Workington, specialising in Computer Aided Manufacture and Computer Aided Design, engineering and civil engineering. The plan includes new builds as well as modifications to pre-existing facilities.
Principal Cherry Tingle said: "I am so pleased that all the hard work of UTC staff, students and employer partners – as well as the Department of Education - has paid off. It is a difficult time for everyone at the moment but, as we move forward, we will desperately need people with skills in engineering and civil engineering, as well as an excellent academic education."
