WHETHER your favourite is cheese and pickle, bacon, lettuce and tomato or sausage and brown sauce, everyone loves a sandwich.

With lockdown gradually coming to an end, businesses reopening and people going back to work , everyone can once again start to indulge in the lunchtime treat, which can range from anything such as a classic cheese and onion sarnie to a wild and outlandish concoction of your own.

This week we've asked readers to give their views on where to get the best sandwiches.

So here, in no particular order is some of the best in the area voted for by you.

1 BUTTERFLIES, POW STREET, WORKINGTON

The cafe has been getting a number of rave reviews on Tripadvisor for their sarnies.

One customer said: "Delicious freshly made salads, sandwiches, jacket potato's, and cakes and scones to die for, there is also always a special board menu of the day.

Another said:"The cafe was busy but we were luckily able to get a seat

"Good selection of freshly made sandwiches, panini, toasties and jacket potatoes.

"The side salad is also excellent. The staff are very friendly and I would highly recommend."

2 ALS KITCHEN DELI & SANDWICH BAR, HARRINGTON ROAD, WORKINGTON

The sandwich got has a number of good reviews on Facebook.

One customer said: "Definitely recommend the afternoon tea, very tasty and plenty of it. Delicious sandwiches."

Another cafe with good reviews on Tripadvisor.

One reviewer said: "Lovely pot of tea, proper bacon sandwich, Asked for it toasted no problem at all. Nice little tea room. Will call again soon."

Another said: "We visited and enjoyed sandwiches which were freshly made and tasty."

5 SANDWICH MAN, JAMES STREET, WHITEHAVEN

A popular choice that is a hit among readers.
