A SWIMMING baths has had a spruce up during lockdown with improvements being made.
With immediate effect on March 20, Wigton swimming baths was forced to close because of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, trustees have used the time wisely to make some well-needed changes.
Pool manager Elaine Hudson said: “I would like to thank everyone for their patience and support during Covid-19.
“We are continuing to improve the look of the poolside and other areas at the baths while we are closed.
“We are following the government and Swim England guidelines and making vital changes so that staff and customers are protected in readiness to open safely.
“The pool hall has been painted.”
Swim England has published its comprehensive Return to Pools Guidance ahead of the Government easing the current lockdown measures. This includes robust recommendations for operators, casual swimmers, lane swimming, family-fun sessions, club activity, teachers and those attending swimming lessons.
The Prime Minister announced the reopening of a number of facilities from this weekend but gyms and pools were not included on the list.
