Exercise is permitted in small groups from today as the Government relaxes restrictions on meeting people from other households. Exercise and outdoor recreation has been extended by the Government to include exercising alone, with members of your family or in groups of up to five people from other households.

The move is in-line with lockdown relaxation measures that allow up to two households to meet in groups of more than six, indoors or outdoors, provided social distancing guidelines can be followed.

From today, outdoor gyms and playgrounds can open but indoor facilities will remain closed as well as swimming pools. Sharing equipment should be avoided if possible but if necessary, the public are advised to use hand sanitiser before and after. The public are asked to follow the countryside code and act responsibly when exercising outdoors. People who are symptomatic are still asked to self isolate.
