Penrith Library has confirmed that it does not yet have a firm date for its reopening, but is working hard in preparation for its return.

The library, located in St Andrews Churchyard in the town centre, is continuing to provide services online throughout its closure.

A spokesman for the library said: "We don’t have a firm date yet for opening the library but we are working hard to get ready to welcome you back.

"We will be open when we have the necessary arrangements in place to ensure staff and customer safety.

"In the meantime you can access our online offer."
