Four people have been arrested in connection with a crash in west Cumbria.

Cumbria Constabulary were called to Moor Road in Broughton Moor at about 7.30pm on Monday to a single car crash.

It involved a Volkswagen Golf.

A 37-year-old man, from Cockermouth, was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and being over the prescribed limit of alcohol. He was uninjured.

A 33-year-old man, from Maryport, was arrested on suspicion of driving while disqualified and for unlawfully taking a motor vehicle. He suffered minor injuries.

A 42-year-old woman, from Workington, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and being over the prescribed limit of alcohol. She was uninjured.

A 37-year-old man, from Workington, was arrested on suspicion of the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. He was uninjured.

All four have been released under investigation.
