A COCKERMOUTH brewery is delighted to be back in action and plans to have its much-loved pints back in pubs later this month.

Jenning’s first brew went in yesterday following nearly four months of lockdown.

Head brewer Jeremy Pettman said: “It’s unbelievable, I can’t put into words how I feel. Everyone keeps asking when we’re going to be opening up. I’m looking forward to my first pint next week.”

There is a team of six people working at the brewery. “Three of us were brought back in last Monday, we went through the plant, making sure everything is working and clean. We then started brewing this morning,” said Jeremy on Thursday.

It is only brewing Cumberland Ale at the moment. “We will see what happens with pubs, consumers and the government,” said Jeremy.

The rest of the team will return on Monday. The beer is expected to be back in pubs the week beginning July 20.
