Theatre is returning to a popular historic castle – today!

Everyone is invited to the front lawns of Muncaster Castle, with fun and laughter returning to its grounds after months of lockdown.

In-line with government guidance, the venue's first event in months, The Grand Cavalcade, will take place outdoors at 2pm today (July 11).

The Fool of Muncaster, Gary "Gacko" Bridgens will be accompanied by showman Lord Foppletwig and Mr. Ian Douglas to present their new touring theatre show, and can't wait for a day of "fun and frivolity" in the stunning castle grounds.

Guests are also welcome to browse the 77 acres of woodland gardens as well as the Muncaster Owl and Hawk Centre, which is open from 11am-4pm, with the Wild Heron Feed scheduled for 4pm.

And although the castle doors remain closed this weekend, guests will be invited inside again from July 15.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for children, and all visitors are asked to remain two-metres apart under government guidance.
