THE organisers of the Trowbridge Weavers Market have encouraged traders to go online after events were cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cllr Stewart Palmen, chairman of the Weavers Market Organisers Group, said: “Last Saturday should have been Trowbridge Weavers Market’s second market of 2020.

“Due to the Covid 19 outbreak the markets have been cancelled due to safety concerns but are determined to be back in 2021.

“Our website has now been adapted to enable a full virtual market allowing people to effectively attend The Weavers Market from their own homes with all their shopping being delivered to them.

“There are 30 stalls in our virtual market covering a wide range of products in four categories: artisan, jewellery, food and textiles and stallholders are already seeing an increase in business through being at the virtual market 24/7.”
