Printable waste collection calendars are once again available in Allerdale.

Allerdale council used to send calendars to ratepayers but stopped this financial year to save money and paper.

The calendars will not be delivered again but can be found in printable form on the Allerdale website for downloading or for use with mobile phones.

The calendar will contain information up to the end of March next year.

Coun Tony Markley, Executive member for environmental services, said: “Many of our residents have been in touch with us asking us to produce a printable version of our online calendar and our officers have been working hard to get this ready.

"I hope those this will be a useful tool for those residents who prefer to access their collection details this way.”

It has been welcomed by Phyllis Scott of Seaton who complained when the calendars were stopped.

Mrs Scott said: "Since they were scrapped she has been using last year’s calendar, check what the neighbours are doing and hope for the best.”
