Hikers, adventurers and visitors to the county are being urged to fully prepare for their trip before arriving for a day of exploring.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team shared the plea on social media, asking all potential visitors – who aren't too familiar with the fells – to make sure they're confident in their weekend plans.
The team included a checklist, created by AdventureSmart, which allows tourists to plan their day, and reduce the risk of putting themselves or others, such as Mountain Rescue, in danger.
"Plan your day," it says. "Ask yourself three questions before you set off: Do I know what the weather will be like? Do I have the right gear? Do I have the knowledge and skills for the day?"
If the answer to any of the questions is no, check all details of your trip to ensure a safe, enjoyable time for all.
