A newly announced coronavirus death at one of Cumbria's NHS trusts takes the total fatalities to 162 since the start of the pandemic.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust - which runs the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven - announced a new death from the virus in yesterday's announced figures.

NHS England data shows the death was recorded on July 29.

There were no new announced deaths at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust or the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, who have recorded 169 deaths and seven deaths respectively.

The last announced deaths at the Morecambe Bay NHS trust came on July 9. Meanwhile, at the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS trust, the most recent announced death came on April 26.
