GUESTS of Distington Hall Crematorium are being asked to wear a face covering when attending funeral services.
In line with new national guidelines, the public will be required to wear a face covering when attending the crematorium's services from Monday August 10.
A spokesperson for Copeland Borough Council said: "The latest Government guidance strongly encourages people to wear a face covering in enclosed public spaces, and this extends to funeral services and crematoria."
Funeral services are included in the Government's new list of places where face masks are mandatory. The list includes cinemas, beauty salons and barbers. Face masks are mandatory in these establishments from today.
The public are expected to bring and wear their own face covering for the duration of their visit.
