A mountain rescuer is set to take on a gruelling endurance challenge in a bid to raise funds for his team which helps hundreds of people every year.
John Fletcher, 55, who joined Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) in 2015, is aiming to complete the Joss Naylor Lakeland Challenge within 15 hours on Saturday.
The 48-mile fell run, between Pooley Bridge and Wasdale, involves climbing 17,000ft and 30 summits.
It was first completed in 1990 by legendary fell runner Joss Naylor, who is currently the vice president of Wasdale MRT.
John, who lives in Wasdale, is raising funds for the mountain rescue team he volunteers for, as it relies entirely on donations. He said: "It’ll be tough so please help if you can."
