Two people have taken to hospital after a car and van collided in Aspatria.

The incident happened at lunchtime today (Tuesday).

A spokeswoman for Cumbria Constabulary said: "Police were contacted at 12.51pm this afternoon about a two-vehicle road traffic collision at Market Square, Aspatria.

"Involved in the collision were a Honda Civic and a Citroen Panel van.

"The driver of the Honda Civic and a passenger both in their 80s were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle with injuries not believed to be serious."
