It's good news for film lovers, as the city's main cinema is set to re-open its doors – this month.

Following its successful reopening of 10 UK sites, Carlisle's Vue will be welcoming cinema-goers, with a range of films ready for all to enjoy.

After Christopher Nolan's latest sci-fi, Tenet, is released on August 26, Vue will also be showing fan-favourites, covering everything from the beloved Harry Potters, classic Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and the magical La La Land.

Staff have ensured everyone will remain safe during each and every screening with Covid measures in-place, including disinfecting all screens between each showing, hand sanitiser stations, social distancing and staggered film times.

Customers will also be required to take part in the Test and Trace initiative, and wear face masks, to help keep themselves and others safe.

Jordan Russell, general manager at Vue Carlisle, said: “We’re really pleased to be preparing to reopen our cinema once again and we look forward to welcoming film fans back soon.

“We’ve been working hard to ensure our site here in Carlisle meets safety protocols in line with the latest government guidance.”

He added: “We want film-lovers in Carlisle and surrounding areas to know that the quality of our viewing experience remains unchanged and customers will continue to enjoy the best audio and picture quality in big screen entertainment, especially with the upcoming release of hotly anticipated titles such as Tenet.

"We hope film-fans are excited as us at the return of the big screen where films like this are supposed to be seen.”
