Police in Cumbria have issued a warning over fake fixed penalty notices being sent to residents via email.
The bogus fixed penalty notices appear to come from HM Courts and Tribunals Service, but are in fact a scam.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police urged anyone who receives a notice that they believe to be fake to report it to Action Fraud.
The spokesman added: "If you are unsure about the legitimacy of a fixed penalty notice you have received, please contact the Fixed Penalty office on 01768 217521, between the hours of 11am and 4pm."
