HARD-HIT business can benefit from fresh funding secured by Allerdale Borough Council.
Funding of £750,000 is available for projects in Workington from The UK Government, on behalf of Allerdale Borough Council.
Funding is aimed at helping the economy recover from the pandemic. Although Workington will submit a bid for £25 million from the Towns Fund programme, £750,000 is already set for a series of projects in the town.
Proposals are in place to create dedicated cycleway through the underpass between Central Way and the Brow Top car park, improve lighting and introduce Workington-themed artwork to the walls of the underpass. Works will also take place on Cloffocks area near Workington Leisure Centre and support demolition and redevelopment of the former Opera House site.
