Seaton Village Hall will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Plans to reopen the hall have had to be put on hold, due to new government guidelines on the safety measures to prevent Covid-19.

Councillors heard at a recent parish meeting that the hall was due to reopen at the end of September.

However the six person rule, which has recently come in, has scuppered those plans.

It means that no more than six people can use the hall for functions such as children’s parties.

Chairman of Seaton Parish Council, Danny Horsley said: "Unless it's meetings like this the village hall is not allowed to open to the public as no parties or groups of more than six can meet."

The village hall will therefore remain closed until further notice.
