Police have confirmed a man died following a house fire.
Emergency services including police, fire and the North West Ambulance Service attended a property fire at the ground floor of a house in Rydal Close, Wigton, at about 3pm yesterday.
A 92-year-old man from Wigton was inside the property when the fire broke out.
Police are working with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service to investigate the circumstances leading to the fire.
The coroner has been informed and police are supporting his family.
Three fire engines, from Wigton, Carlisle East and Silloth and several police vehicles attended at the scene.
Crews were at the property for around three hours.
The death is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
