A WARNING has been issued to the public that those who do not clean-up after their dog will receive a fine.
A spokesperson for Allerdale Borough Council has said: "We take a zero tolerance approach to those who fail to clean-up after their dog.
Waste enforcement officers are on the streets in Allerdale towns and villages to ensure they are kept clean.
Officers focus on specific towns each day with patrols carried out in Moss Bay as well as Workington and Harrington on Wednesday.
Allerdale council officers can issue fixed penalty notices to residents who break their rules on waste.
"Irresponsible dog owners beware"
If the public spot an instance of fly-tipping or dog fouling, they are asked to inform the borough council through the MyAllerdale app or the website.
The public can also report the offences to Workington Town Council and Workington Nature Partnership.
