The Met Office is warning that flooding is likely this weekend as a number of yellow weather warnings for rain have been issued.

A yellow warning for rain comes into force at 9am tomorrow morning lasting until 23.59pm on Friday according to the Met Office website.

A second then comes in again at 12am on Saturday morning lasting until 9pm on Saturday evening.

A third yellow warning will come into force at 9am on Sunday morning lasting until 23.59pm on Sunday night.

Periods of heavy rain may lead to flooding and disruption to transport.

Continuing periods of heavy rain on Saturday may lead to further flooding and disruption to transport.

What to expect

  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life
  • Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible
  • Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
