A school in Workington is one of just 23 in the UK to receive an award for their digital work.

Victoria Infant and Nursery School has received an eTwinning School Label for their communication and projects with other member schools across the world.

Schools on the eTwinning platform work together on joint projects, encouraging international collaboration.

Mrs Humble, EYFS phase leader, said: “As an eTwinning ambassador I am so proud of the staff and pupils for achieving their status of eTwinning school. We are one of 23 schools in the UK to have been given the title.

“We ensure the children in all year groups engage in activities throughout the year through the eTwinning platform.

Jessica Mossop, KS1 phase leader said: “To secure the prestigious eTwinning School Label is a real honour for the students and teachers who participate in the projects.

She said: “This rewards them for their hard work. It’s nice to focus on something positive.

“We did a pen pal project with a school in Turkey. For that we got a Quality Label.”

To secure the eTwinning School Label, Victoria Infants demonstrated digital practice, online safety practice, “innovative and creative approaches to pedagogy,” promoting continuous professional development of staff and promoting collaborative learning practices in the school.
