THE RATE of Covid-19 infection is levelling off in the UK, according to new figures.
Latest data from the Office for National Statistics shows that infection rates are levelling off across the UK.
The R-rate for the whole of the UK is falling and now sits between 1 and 1.1
Figures are falling even before the full effects of November's lockdown can be seen.
The survey from ONS covering the week up to November 14, tested people in thousands of UK households.
Figures are an estimate as it does not include people in care homes and hospitals. Data suggests that 1 in 80 English people have coronavirus, 1 in 155 have Covid-19 in Scotland and 1 in 135 people in Northern Ireland. England is seeing almost 39,000 infections per day.
