Villagers are in for a treat in Seaton as groups are working together to create some Christmas cheer.

The Village Hall, Friends of Seaton Academy PTA, Cumbria County Council and Seaton Food Distribution Centre have three ideas to help get everyone into the Christmas spirit: Christmas tea for all pensioners; a children’s goodie bag; and a hamper from the Food Distribution Centre for anyone that is struggling.

The scheme has had help from a Maryport Lions donation, Dobies charitable trust and Grantscape Windfarm

For all pensioners in Seaton, Camerton and Barepot who would like a special afternoon tea delivered to their door, give Jean and Mike Thompson a call on 01900 602220 or 07513 167955.

Neighbours can be nominated too.

Let them know before December 4, for delivery after lunch on December 19.

The goodie bags are for Seaton and Camerton and Barepot children from the age of two up to 11.

They will be distributed through Seaton schools, but for any children that do not go to these schools their name, age and address should be posted in the special red post box by Seaton shops.

Any child who wants to write a letter to Santa can also put letters in that box and if they include their name and address he will try to reply.

The box will be removed on December 5.

For Christmas spirit hampers, contact Seaton Food Distribution Centre before December 4, for delivery on December 19.

On Christmas Eve villagers are asked to join in the 'Jingle Fest' and ring bells at 6pm to get everyone’s Christmas off to a great start.
