HOSPITALITY venues in Allerdale have been asked to contact the borough council as the roadmap out of lockdown gathers pace.

Allerdale council is asking the businesses including pubs, restaurants, cafes and hotels to explain their plans from April 12, when they will be allowed to open once more.

A spokesman for the council said: "We'd like you to contact us regarding your intentions for your premises from April 12th onwards. This is so we can ensure you have the correct licence to be able to operate the way you have planned."

The council need to know whether venues want to use pavement space deemed a public highway to operate; or sell alcohol in an outdoor space where payment is made outside; or if they intend to hold an outdoor event which requires a temporary event notice.

Some businesses may need to apply for a temporary event notice (TEN) if they are hosting events.
