Three roads in Workington are to be closed until next month.
A notice was served by Cumbria County Council that vehicles will be unable to travel down Ladles Walk, Tiffin Lane and Udale Street for the foreseeable future because of the likelihood of danger to the public, as a result of the dangerous condition of a building adjacent to the roads and to enable demolition works to be carried out.
Works are expected to take at least 12 weeks.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. Suitable alternative routes for pedestrians and cyclists are available as follows:
U2558 Ladies Walk via the unrestricted sections of Ladies Walk, the A596, U2662 Udale Street, Pow Street and Speedwell Lane.
U2559 Tiffin Lane: via the unrestricted section of Ladies Walk, Pow Street and Speedwell Lane.
U2995 Udale Street: via the unrestricted sections of Udale Street, and Pow Street
This follows two emergency notices dated February 23, 2021 and March 16, 2021.
