The Captain Tom Challenge was a national campaign to honour the man who raised millions for NHS charities before his death at 100, earlier this year.

Thirty staff members at Lillyhall's Energus did the challenge between them.

"We have raised £400 so far and are hoping to get even more."

The money will go to the Wasdale Mountain Rescue team, which is a chosen charity of the company at Lillyhall.

Several events have been held to raise money for the charity including

Wasdale Mountain Rescue was selected after the part they played in recovering the body of Chris Brown, who was killed in 2019 after an accident on Scafell Pike.

His wife, Sam, works at Energus as does Chris' brother and sister-in-law.

The three have been instrumental in raising thousands of pounds for the group.

Sam was one of those who completed the challenge.

The event took place on Friday and entrants did the 100 miles by walking around the Energus block.

The Captain Tom 100 challenge encouraged people to get involved in raising money either for his foundation or for the charities they wanted to support.
