Allerdale Police has today been speaking with St Patrick's Roman Catholic Primary School pupils about their 'Bright Stars' project to make Vulcans Park a safer place.

Bright Stars is an eight-week programme designed to introduce children in primary schools across Cumbria to leadership, entrepreneurship and the world of business whilst raising money for charity.

In a post, Allerdale Police have said: "We have been discussing various ideas that could help their campaign to tackle anti social behaviour and help the local community."

As well as discussing anti social behaviour crime prevention, they have also been discussing beekeeping.

The 'Mini Police' from Victoria Junior School have been learning about bee keeping today as part of their Bright Stars project to provide a community allotment.

They are hoping to set up a bee hotel and have been receiving advice on how to look after bees.
