A new building is planned for the site that houses Workington's The Caspian restaurant.
In plans revealed to Allerdale Borough Council, the proposal is to build a single span portal framed building, with a combined floor area of 350 sq.m, and for use in connection with the existing on site business for storage purposes.
The new storage building fabric is to be a dark grey profiled metal sheeting, with anthracite roof sheeting, incorporating translucent panels and have powder coated roller shutter, pass doors and frames.
The applicant has insisted: "It will complement the buildings currently on site and in the area generally."
They added: "The proposed scheme would see further investment in this existing commercial area, which will retain the business on the site and have the associated potential benefits of new local employment opportunities, which in turn will strengthen the long term sustainability and operation of the company, its workforce and the area in general."
