A stalwart of Borough Park has been recognised by The Cumberland FA for his service to grassroots football.
Neil McKeating, who is known as Ashy to Reds, has been recognised by The FA for more than 25 years' service to grassroots football.
Ashy was "highly commended" in the Volunteer of the Year category of the Grassroots Football Awards.
He first started volunteering at the Workington AFC ground in the late sixties, he can now be heard as PA announcer on match days.
An engraved trophy and certificate was presented to Ashy on the Borough Park pitch before their pre-season clash with Carlisle United on Saturday.
