A new housing development is set to get underway in the local area.
The houses are currently under construction in the Stainburn area of Workington and will cover four and a half acres of land.
Eighty one new homes will be built on Farries Field and Genesis Homes has committed to providing the green spaces.
The space will also include wildflower meadows and planting.
John Blue, Land Director for Genesis Homes, said: “Particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, people have shifted their focus more towards their mental wellbeing and having access to outdoor spaces, plenty of natural light and views onto water or green space has a major impact on improving people’s mental health.
"In addition to providing a copious amount of green space to enjoy with the whole family, the homes at Farries Field will have plenty of outdoor space around them so people can enjoy the great outdoors in privacy too."
Genesis Homes say that they are committed to building sustainable, energy efficient, homes.
The homes will have 100 per cent energy efficient lighting, smart energy meters and dual flush toilets, as well as double glazed windows and doors, water saving systems, quality insulation and efficient boilers.
Managing director Nicky Gordon added: "Genesis Homes is very serious about reducing its carbon footprint, and we always consider what impact our developments will have on the environment.
"The Farries Field development is a great example of this and we have ensured that we will provide plenty of green spaces."
