A WELL-LOVED fireworks show will go ahead this year- it has been announced.
The Cockermouth Fireworks Display is a firm favourite with people in the town and those from further afield.
The event was cancelled last year as lockdown and the pandemic put a stop to large events throughout the last year.
However, the event will take place again this Autumn the council have revealed.
The Fireworks display is organised by Cockermouth Town Council and brings large crowds to the town every year to see the vast array of fireworks on offer.
The annual event takes place in the Memorial Gardens of the town and is an event that thousands of people, many of whom are families, attend every year.
Last year the event was cancelled due to the concerns that councillors had about holding that and the town's Christmas Light Switch on with the virus spreading in the county.
This years event will be held Sunday, November 7 at 6pm.
