A Wigton theatre will open its doors at the end of the month to allow guests the chance to see what goes on during productions.

The John Peel Theatre on Station Road are urging people to make their way to the theatre on Saturday 23 October to have a look behind the scenes.

Between 10:30-12:30, the doors will be open as part of Taste Cumbria's Wigton event. It will be the first time the group have organised an event in the town, where there will be a Producers’ Market and fairground rides on Water Street Car Park, which will also host a stage showcasing local bands and entertainers. More events are to be held around the town.

The theatre group are offering a tour of the building, where guests will see their exciting new work and can even get involved in a free workshop. We'll be running workshops on Drama, Lighting and Sound & Stage Management. There will also be a film night held in the theatre in the evening.

The bar will also be open, where there will be tea and coffee on and ice creams on offer.
