MAGISTRATES have imposed a one-year community order on a 62-year-old Cockermouth woman who sent somebody a "grossly offensive" message.
At Workington Magistrates' Court, Julie Thompson, of Beckside Close, pleaded guilty to two offences: the offensive message offence and assaulting an emergency worker - a police officer by beating her.
She committed both offences on September 6, according to court records. The sentence includes a requirement to complete up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
Thompson must pay costs of £85.
