WITH half term just around the corner Cockermouth's Kirkgate Centre has lots of entertainment on offer.

Providing un for all the family is 'Same Same... But Different'.

This playful, colourful dance theatre will take place at 11.30am and 2pm on Tuesday, October 26.

"Three dancers take you on a funny, delightful and heart-warming journey, exploring our curiosities and fears, the times we feel different, and when we belong," said a spokesman.

"The performers conjure a magical atmosphere, where we celebrate our individuality, diversity and the bonds which connect us all."

Le Vent du Nord will be playing from 8pm on Sunday, October 24.

"This is a welcome return to the Kirkgate for the award-winning and highly acclaimed Le Vent du Nord. The group’s vast repertoire draws from both traditional sources and original compositions, while enhancing its hard-driving soulful music with a broad range of global influences," said a spokesman.

"Since forming in 2002, Le Vent du Nord has enjoyed meteoric success, performing well over 1,800 concerts over five continents and racking up several prestigious awards."

While 'Ensonglopedia of the Human' questions what it means to be human at 7pm on Thursday, October 28.

"This show provides 26 answers, one for each letter of the alphabet. A lighthearted musical looking at the anatomy, evolution, habits and quirks of that strange species, the Homo sapiens," said a spokesman.

"An Ensonglopedia is a musical and alphabetical adventure, with a range of amusing and educational songs on a single theme. A brand new show by multi-award-winning singer-songwriter and science communicator John Hinton."
