AN APPLICATION for planning permission has been submitted to build a new machinery storage building.

Allerdale Borough Council has received the plans for approval from Mr Watson of Watson Ground Maintenance Limited.

It is proposed that further accommodation for machinery is built for use by the business which is based at Black Brow, near Orton.

The applicant said in their Design and Access Statement: "An extension to the existing storage building was considered but dismissed as being close to the dwelling and would cause overshadowing to the house and garden."

"Comparatively the new construction is not incongruous in relation to the other buildings in the immediate vicinity. The building is similar to a typical agricultural style building, common in the area, with steel portal frames and clad with coloured profile metal sheet roofing and half height concrete panels."

Watson Ground Maintenance Limited provides general landscaping services to private and Local Authority sector sites.

Mr Watson's operation requires many different types of machinery from hand grass strimmers to small tractor grass cutters and larger vehicles.
