Mitie has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver Sellafield’s new Integrated Asset Care (IAC) framework, as a 50/50 partnership with Jacobs, under a joint venture called OneAIM.

Sellafield Ltd estimates the IAC contract to be worth up to £250m over the full term of the contract.

The IAC framework covers core construction and asset care services at Sellafield, the UK’s most complex nuclear site, and replaces the old Operation Site Works framework.

As part of the contract, OneAIM will be responsible for providing specialist services such as the commissioning, installation, modification, and removal of the site’s equipment, which includes compressors, roofing, and electrical control panels.

The OneAIM team will have full project implementation and management responsibilities, as well as coordinating with existing frameworks at Sellafield.

Mitie has held a long and trusted relationship with Sellafield Ltd for almost 20 years, with an initial cleaning contract being awarded to Mitie in 2003.

Over the past two decades, Mitie’s relationship with Sellafield Ltd has evolved as the service requirement has expanded, with Mitie being successfully awarded the full integrated facilities management service contract.

This long-standing partnership with Europe’s largest nuclear site demonstrates Mitie’s expertise working in the nuclear sector and its capabilities working in highly regulated environments.

Simon Venn, managing director, technical services, Mitie said: “Having delivered services to Sellafield for almost 20 years, we are very proud of the relationship we have built over this time. This contract win demonstrates our expertise and deep understanding of this sector and is testament to the ongoing hard work of the team. We look forward to continuing to work in collaboration with Jacobs as part of the OneAIM joint venture to deliver exceptional services on this new framework.”
