STORMY weather brought excitement to readers as thunder and lightning rolled across the county.

Video footage submitted by Heather Boyles in South Cumbria captured the moment zapped across the sky.

Some readers were subjected to torrential downpours, like Alison Gill in Dalton, whilst others were seemingly unaware of the bad weather, leading Pat Shaw to ask, ‘where’s it raining?’ Lucy Ryan said: “Weird. I’m in South Cumbria and not a single sound, flash or drop of rain here.”

Dorne Pelan said: “Thunder was so loud last night in Barrow woke me up twice.”

Liz Leech said: “It absolutely poured it down here in Barrow Town Centre for about half an hour last night.”

Anna Charnley said: “Seen down Coast Rd way from Lesh Lane about 9pm.”

Vikki Jackson said: “We've seen a bit of lightning while we've been sat outside because we had no power.

“We were sat watching strangers things and all of a sudden everything went off lol x”

Kimberley Whitby said: “We had some lightning in Kendal, poured down for about 10 minutes then cleared up and stopped.

“Now it’s just hot and muggy.”

Janet Poskitt said: “Not heard a thing.”

Alison Gill said: “We had torrential rain in Dalton during the night, along with loud thunder and lightning.”

Kailem Strickland said: “About time it rains.”

Gail Rogan said: “Torrential in Dalton.”

Lisa Lopez said: “There has been quite a lot. I’ve been sat out in the garden watching it, no thunder though.”

Sarah Hill said: “We have been sat out for an hour and seen nothing.”
