A CARLISLE mum and daughter have gone viral on TikTok following a video of an unwelcome arachnid entering their home with devastating consequences.

Freya Swailes, a 25-year-old makeup artist, was horrified to see the gargantuan house spider on her laminate wooden flooring, half way between her and her little 17-month-old toddler, Zylah.

After filming the arachnid, the toddler wobbled over to the camera and accidentally crushed the legs of the arachnid on August 13.

She called out to her daughter exclaiming 'oh my God look at the size of it', telling her to 'stay away from it' three times.

But Zylah had other ideas and toddled over to her Mum, treading on a few of the poor spider's bent legs.

The video has since been viewed over five million times in just a few days, after she posted it on August 14.

"I was absolutely petrified, I screamed in complete horror when Zylah stood on the spider," Freya said.

"After she stood on it, the spider ran away with a few broken legs and hid.

"I locked the door and haven't been able to find the spider since."
