A WORKINGTON primary school had a spooky set of characters walking through the doors, as children and teachers came together to celebrate Halloween.

Northside Primary School, in Northside, Workington welcomed a range of spooky characters through their doors on Monday, October 31 as Halloween was marked by it's pupils.

The school pets also joined in on the fun , as two bunnies posed for pictures with skeletons outside in the yard- as children enjoyed a day full of Halloween themed lessons and a whole school parade.

Speaking on Monday Headteacher, Mrs Vicky McDowell said: "This morning, we have been delighted to welcome through our doors: witches, fairies, clowns, cats, wizards, pumpkins, zombies, Frankensteins and Draculas who have taken the place of all the children and teachers at Northside Primary School.  There’s the odd skeleton and pumpkin carving around the building as well.

"We’re enjoying a day of Hallowe’en themed lessons and a whole school parade around the school playground.

"We are having a film evening where we are having some Hallowe’en snacks for all the children.

"The children all look super smart and are excited to start back for this new half term and we are all delighted to see them."
