The Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa has been crowned the most booked spa in the Lake District, according to Spabreaks.com

It comes after an analysis of 2023 consumer booking data carried out by the spa experience and booking agency.

The hotel accounted for a staggering 55.89 per cent of all spa bookings made in the scenic region in 2023.

Nestled on the shores of Lake Windermere, the Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa boasts not only breath taking views, but also 'superb facilities'.

Here, guests can indulge in a massage or facial, or unwind in the thermal suite.

Spabreaks.com founder Abi Selby said: "It’s always really insightful to look back across the past year and see where and how customers are using the spa.

"At Spabreaks.com we know that everyone uses the spa in different ways, whether it’s for a spa weekend break or just a quick visit of an evening.

"We make sure our offerings suit everyone, and that the spa is a place accessible to all."

Also making the cut in the Lake District's most booked spas were North Lakes Hotel & Spa, known for its luxurious treatments and relaxation space, and Netherwood Hotel & Spa, boasting a romantic atmosphere and thermal facilities.

Netherwood Hotel & Spa is home to an aroma steam room, a salt inhalation room, an ice fountain and a wooden hot tub.

They are followed by Appleby Manor Hotel & Garden Spa, carrying Lake District views and more than 80 spa therapies to choose from, and Bannatyne Carlisle, a modern day spa and gym offering a wealth of pampering treatments.

Bannatyne Carlisle includes equipment such as the Omnia 8 rig for functional training, SKILLROWs, Wattbikes, SKILLMILL and more.

Each venue is said to deliver a unique spa experience catering to varied customer needs.
