AMNESTY'S Palestine Israel campaign co-ordinator will be presenting a report in Carlisle on Friday night.

On April 26, Mike Reed will present Amnesty’s report, 'Israel’s Apartheid Against the Palestinians,' at the Church of Scotland on Chapel Street, inviting all to learn more about the organisation's stance on the Israel-Gaza conflict.

"Amnesty International calls Israel's treatment of Palestinians Apartheid. Does this make sense?

"Why does Amnesty use this term?

"And what is the evidence?

"Join us and find out more. Amnesty will give a talk and slide presentation and there will be time for questions and discussion," Mike said.

Mike's presentation aims to shed light on the contentious issues underlying the conflict, pre-dating the recently reported commencement following the attack by Hamas on October 7.

The event runs in tandem with initiatives by Palestine Solidarity Group Carlisle & District, who holds weekly vigils to remember the over 34,000 lives lost.

This weekend's event marked the 196 day of conflict.

The group are urging the government to act to support a ceasefire and working with national organisations to support calls for justice for Palestine.

The event with Mike Reed will be held at 6.30pm.

Carlisle's Palestine weekly vigils will continue to be held outside the House of Fraser building at 1pm.
