Elliott Miller says Workington Town need to find another gear to win this weekend’s promotion showdown with Bradford Bulls.

Town have come out as big game performers this season, stepping up their game to beat the Bulls and Doncaster twice, and going close against York and the London Broncos.

But Miller admitted this was the big one for all the players and they were all ready to rise to the occasion at Odsal on Sunday for the Betfred League One play-off final, kick-off 3pm.

"Everyone is going to have to find another gear for this game but we are all up for it, more than ever," said Miller.

"This is the last push for the lads, it could be the final game for us so we need one more push before the end of the season.

"Everyone was absolutely buzzing after the semi-final game. We had a pretty chilled training session to settle the nerves earlier in the week. But everyone is enjoying it.

"Against the big teams, we seem to pick up our game. I think it is just the occasion and big crowds.

"We know everyone has to put 100 per cent in and pick their game up for the big matches."

Miller was part of the Whitehaven team that lost out at this stage last year in a tight encounter that saw Barrow promoted.

And he says that only makes him more determined to help Town reach their goal on Sunday.

"We go into this game with no pressure on us, it is all on Bradford," said Miller.

"They are probably the team everyone expects to go up so we go into the game with no real pressure on our backs.

"We will watch a video with Leon and he will point out where we need to focus and strengthen.

"And we have played them twice so we know what game-plan we can put in place against them and it will be a winning game-plan.

"But they will be doing the same and I think they will come out a lot stronger than last time.

"We need to start well and get the upper hand quickly. A confident start will boost us for the rest of the game."

And he admitted the backing of hundreds of fans, who are set to flock down to Odsal, will be like taking an extra man.

"I think Town fans are always the loudest," added Miller. "They are coming down in big numbers in buses and cars so it should be a good crowd.

"They are always good for us, getting behind us.

"It is a good feeling if we can get promotion, I’ve been there before with Town. You always want to play against the better teams so it would be great for us.

"A lot of the younger lads won’t have been in a final before so they will get to experience that feeling and, hopefully, we will have that buzz afterwards."
